L'Associació Wagneriana de Alacant, membre del Richard Wagner Verband International (RWVI)
L'Associació Internacional Wagner, també coneguda com Societat Wagner, és una conferderación d'associacions d'arreu del món que promou l'interès i la investigació de les obres del compositor alemany Richard Wagner, recapta fons per atorgar beques a joves estudiants de música, cantants i instrumentistes , i dóna suport al Festival de Bayreuth, que té lloc cada any. També patrocina simposis, dóna suport concursos de cant per a veus wagnerianes i premis per a la direcció d'escena i escenografia de les òperes de Wagner. L'associació es constitueix com una organització sense à nim de lucre.
L'Associació Wagneriana de Alacant (AWA) és membre de la RWVI des de l'any 2012, moment en què passa a la dimensió pública. Quant és constituïda per fer la seva missió pública i històrica, l'AWA, a causa del amplÃssim CV dels seus membres fundadors, rep el recolzament gairebé immediat del Comitè Executiu per a la seva admissió a la confederació, de la mà de la professora Eva Märtson, actual presidenta .
En col·laboració amb la RWVI, l'AWA posarà en marxa el programa de beques per a estudiants del Conservatori Superior de Música d'Alacant que permetrà que alguns d'ells visitin els Festivals de Bayreuth i participin en programa d'activitats que des d'allà es posa en marxa al voltant a la celebració de l'obra de Wagner.
El programa de 2013 és especialment significatiu perquè es representa el Bicentenari del Naixement de Wagner.
